The Right Equipment, Owned and Operated by Our Crew.
In-house plant for faster mobilisation and tighter quality control.
We don't subcontract our critical equipment. FTTX owns and operates the full fleet it uses on-site — from specialist directional drill to Hydro Vac, Hiab, excavators, and cable trucks. That means we're not dependent on third-party availability, and our operators know the machines they're running.
Our Fleet
Hydro Vac — Non-Destructive Excavation
Our primary Hydro Vac unit carries a 4,000L debris tank and is used for non-destructive excavation around live services — a critical capability in urban infrastructure environments where service strikes are unacceptable. A new 8,000L unit is currently under construction, expanding our capacity for larger-scale operations.
Vermeer 10x15 Directional Drill
Our Vermeer directional drill is a specialist tool for road crossings and sub-surface installations in congested corridors. We use it where open-cut trenching is not possible or practical — a capability in increasing demand as urban infrastructure networks become more complex.
Hiab Truck & 6-Wheeler Hookloader Tipper
Load-carrying and off-load capability for materials, plant, and equipment. Our Hiab truck handles the crane-lift requirements of cable drums, precast elements, and equipment deliveries. The hookloader tipper manages spoil and materials removal.
Excavators & Loaders — 2 to 8.5 Tonne
A range of excavator sizes gives us flexibility across site types — from compact urban trenching where access is tight, to larger earthworks on open sites. Our operators are experienced across the full range.
Specialist Cable Trucks & Winches
Purpose-built cable trucks and winch equipment for power and communications cable hauling. These are configured for the load, drum size, and tension requirements of infrastructure-grade cable installation.
What Owned Plant Means for Your Project
When a contractor owns its critical plant, the delivery risk profile changes. There's no equipment availability risk, no third-party scheduling, and no margin stacking from hired-in machinery. Our operators know the equipment, know its limits, and know how to get the best out of it in the field. For clients managing complex programmes where contractor reliability is a material risk, that matters.
